The exhibition “30 x 40 x 50 SUBURBS OF THE WORLD – MINOR CITIES. Pará de Minas: ambiente construído e vida social “is the first exhibition of the cultural and photographic project” 30 x 40 x 50 SUBURBS OF THE WORLD “and has as its sole object of investigation the capital of the state of Minas Gerais (Brazil).
The exhibition, defined as the proposal of “a new look at the periphery”, has collected photographs of Italian and Brazilian cities with the specific aim of highlighting aspects of the periphery that normally go unnoticed. “People look at these places with superficiality and, in many cases, with fear. The idea is to show the suburbs as living and rich places “, explained one of the curators of the exhibition.
Created in collaboration and with the help of numerous exponents of the culture of Pará de Minas, the exhibition has been taken up by numerous local newspapers, contributing to arouse great interest in the population of this Brazilian town, particularly receptive of cultural and artistic initiatives.
